the jury. but we were reminded again this week that the killing of george floyd was no outlier as police responded with brute force to protest the killing of daunte wright by a white officer just miles from minneapolis and chicago police released disturbing video of an officer killing a 13-year-old boy adam toledo. joining me now, reverend al sharpton, host of politics nation. msnbc columnist and author of rise up. and benjamin crump, civil rights attorney and attorney for the families of george floyd and daunte wright. gentlemen, thank you both for coming back to the sunday show this sunday morning. attorney crump, i ll start with you. we ve been through weeks of the trial now. it s about to go the case is about to go to the jury tomorrow. how are you feeling right now about the possibility of derek chauvin being found guilty? well, jonathan, reverend al and i have been with the family every day of the trial and the family have been going into the courtroom and the
joking, an entire other family. a community dedicated that was a professional and that we shared milestones in my life. and i ve been allowed to share milestones in theirs. i ve been to an awful lot of weddings and christenings and unfortunately, some burials, as well. we re family. you know, i remember one night, my daughter was only six years old and it was my birthday. and we were voting. and i went to bob dole and i said, bob, when s the next vote going to take place and he said, joe, why? and i said, my daughter is really upset i m not going to be able to be home for the birthday cake she made for me. he said, what do you need? i said, i need to catch the train. got off the train, my wife, jill was standing there. my daughter had the cake, had the candle lit, blew them out, gave them a kiss and walked across got on the southbound. i ve been riding on amtrak as long as there s been an amtrak. it doesn t just carry us from one place to another, it opens up enormous possibi
but it cannot be ignored ten miles down the road another officer s trial is being conducted. experts being called this afternoon telling the jury that george floyd did not die from suffocation. also this hour, we expect to see the president of the united states making this huge announcement that he plans to end america s longe war and that u.s. troops will be withdrawn from afghanistan before the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. as soon as we see the president, we ll take it live. but first to brooklyn center, minnesota. officer kim potter has been charged, arrested, booked into jail for the death of daunte wright. the charge of second-degree manslaughter. potter abruptly resigned yesterday, citing, quote, the interests of the community. meantime protests continue for a third straight night, demonstrators chanting things like stand up now and i believe we can win. there were violent clashes. police made more than 16 arrests. a adrienne broaddus is there for us
