The points tables do
nothing to indicate the closeness of racing in this season s
New Zealand Superbike Championships (NZSBK).
The
competition kicked off at Christchurch just over a week ago,
while round two was staged at Levels International Raceways,
near Timaru, on Saturday and Sunday, and both weekends
featured ferociously-close racing in all the various bike
categories.
The four-round series reached the halfway
stage at the weekend, also winding up the South Island phase

It s one
down and three to go in this year s chase for motorcycle
road-racing honours and the action on tarmac is set to get
hotter as the series progresses.
The first round of
four in the 2021 New Zealand Superbike Championships (NZSBK)
was held at Mike Pero Motorsport park, Ruapuna, on the
outskirts of Christchurch, last weekend and several riders
surely have bragging rights after that early dust-up, but
it s early days yet and none can really take anything for

It was a typical
summer scorcher in Canterbury at the weekend as the 2021 New
Zealand Superbike Championships (NZSBK) got underway in
thrilling fashion.
The four-round series kicked off at
Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Ruapuna, on the outskirts of
Christchurch, and the two-day Underground Brown-sponsored
affair produced some of the closest and most thrilling race
action that had possibly even been witnessed on the twisty
3.4-kilometre race circuit.

The wheels have been well and truly in motion at Timaru’s newest recreation facility. The Caroline Bay bike skills park has proved a hit during the summer holidays, with hundreds of children riding scooters and bicycles on the community park’s newly laid tracks.

The skill park gives its users the chance to learn valuable road safety skills. While the course is now open, there are still signs and lights to be installed, along with some other landscaping.
