We have been keeping an eye on a number of alerts of damage from the storm, and power is the primary issue, and entergy is the power company, and they are out of power and its causing an imbalance in transmission. This is a compounded problem because they need that for a lot of things, including Pumping Water away from the levees. Let me be clear, we have no reports of damage to levees. Theres reports of Flash Flooding and an emergency that has been issued by the weather service, but thats not pursuant to damage of the levees. We will keep an eye on that and continue to update you as the evening goes on. We have plenty of correspondents out in the field, and Ali Velshi is in New Orleans, and janessa web, well start with you. What can you tell us . We are dealing with a destructive and deadly Storm System and its dark across Southeast Louisiana, and we saw the storm make landfall eight hours ago and its downgraded to a cat 3. Good evening, joshua, were getting the 8 00 p. M. Advisory from the national Hurricane Center that were seeing the center of the storm on radar. Thats the green you see here beginning to show up. Thats about 275, 280 miles from New Orleans at the current time. So the white is the clouds, the green is the Rain Bands and those will be moving on shore as we go throughout the morning hours. This is the satellite imagery, and we color it to see the brighter reds or top of the thunderstorms, lets meteorologists know where the stronger portions of the storm are. The winds did not increase. Thats great. Were 18 hours or so from landfall, we want to keep this as weak as possible. We dont think its going to get weak before a landfall, we think its going to become stronger, category 3 overnight, and right before landfall possibly getting up to a category 4. We should expect a major Hurricane Landfall in Southeastern Louisiana tomorrow afternoon, direct impacts, grand isle, home of Morgan City. Th

Today thousands marched through streets of d. C. And other american cities like phoenix, miami, and atlanta. The protesters united against the gops sustained attacks on Voting Rights. Made possible by State Legislatures in gop control. Today new president of the aflcio, the largest federation of unions in the united states spoke to Nbc News onto shrines of a rally in phoenix. We are concerned about what were seeing in terms of Voter Suppression all across this country. And really, in my opinion, the action is out in the community and on the ground. And so thats why i wanted to be here in Phoenix Today because these activists, theyre ready to march, theyre ready to mobilize, educate, register voters. And we want to do whatever we can as a Labor Movement to be good partners on the ground to make that happen. Not many people are aware that that march 58 years ago was for jobs and freedom, because the two are so interrelated. And we fight for Workplace Democracy and the Trade Union Movemen
