For a second straight year, Panguitch and Rich met in the 1A girls volleyball state championship, but this time around it was a different result as the Bobcats topped the Rebels in three sets to earn their first state title since 2019. Panguitch, the No. 1 seed in the 1A tournament, took home the state trophy by beating the No. 3-seed Rich 25-21, 25-21 and 25-16. “What a phenomenal bunch of young ladies that I get the privilege of working with every day,” longtime Panguitch head coach Troy Norris said.
Top seed Panguitch used its size advantage in the middle to jump out fast as it rolled past No. 9 seed Manila for the win in the 1A quarterfinals at UVU on Friday, 25-13, 25-14, 25-21. With the win, Panguitch advances to Saturday’s semifinals at 11 a.m. where it will face No. 4 seed Wendover.
