For the defense. speedy trial demand, they didn t want a speedy trial no more than the man in the moon. the defense s best friend is delay, delay, delay. in every case. they don t want a speedy, which means the case has to be tried six months from the arraignment. the longer you wait, the less memories are sharp, you lose witnesses, you lose evidence, the public interest dies down. so they want to delay. that was the big game. now they want the indictment thrown out, another big game. that indictment is not getting thrown out. now, they are saying there are secret grounds to have it thrown out, 24 grounds, that s not true. all that means is the judge put it under seal. they are claiming prosecutorial misconduct, the wrong standard approved, grand jury bias, lack of evidence. if there wasn t enough evidence the grand jury would not have indicted. obviously there was enough evidence. all of these claims are going to
