Erie doctor earns praise from grateful patient
I am writing this letter as a tribute to Dr. Joseph Thomas, who has been treating my back and neck problems for approximately 26 years.
After back surgery in November 1994, I was experiencing severe pain daily and was referred for shots in my spine.
Months of pain went by and Dr. Thomas read an MRI of my spine area and he stated that there appeared to be something on the MRI that showed I might need a follow-up.
Dr. Thomas referred me to another neurosurgeon who within weeks sent me for a myelogram. This test revealed what Dr. Thomas had seen, being a residual or a fragment from my first operation.

A new owner is poised to take over the spacious offices of a well-known Erie pain clinic, but the building could go up for sale again soon.
The 31,784-square-foot longtime home of Tri-State Pain Institute, at 2374 Village Common Drive in Millcreek Township, sold for $3.37 million at an auction in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Erie on Wednesday.
