net so they can corralled and then taken out of this pond. and then moved over to the back to the crystal river. what we know right now there s at least one more ma am and calf combo possibly another manatee in addition to those two. this rescue effort has going on since early this morning they ve stuck in here since hurricane hermine they were washed over bridge that separates this pond on golf course that a canal that connects to the crystal river we re at the plantation on crystal river. this massive team involving volunteer an experts throughout region. this really does take a lot of work. we think there might be about 17 manatees in there, at least six the biggest ones weigh 1500 pounds. and all of these animals have literally be carried out on a stretcher placed into a truck. and then taken down the road and released back into crystal river down a boat ramp. that. carrying these manatees takes about 20 people. especially when we re talking about the a largest of these 1
trouble tonight. they re stuck in an inlet. we have more on this story. what an afternoon out here. dozens of people with their cameras, videotaping and photographing. a mother whale and its calf spent hours out here in the inlet, just swimming around, wandering around. tonight, fish and wildlife has a boat stationed out here to keep boaters away from them and everybody is hoping that the mother and the calf will swim underneath this bridge right here and back out to sea. this is a whale of a video. debbie took this video of a 45 foot endangered north atlantic right whale in sebastian outlet today. the mother whale has an 18 foot calf with her. folks first saw them before 10:00 this morning and the duo stayed all day long. when i was shooting the video, to me, the way it laid across the top, it reminded me like i was thinking, okay. is this the lock nes monster or something like that? four boats set up a perimeter to set up the whales from boats and a marine abolish
we learned the suspect turned himself in. police say the suspect s name is corn bread. his real name, lamont postell. police tell he s not a student. the shooting took place at the indigo lakes golf club in daytona beach east of interstate 95. that s about four miles west of the university. tracy jason covering the investigation and spoke with the police chief. reporter: this was the scene at 1:00 this morning at the indy low lakes golf club, a big response after party with more than 200 people here turned deadly. my officers were on patrol last night in the subdivision and saw cars parked all over the place, and they did research and discovered that there was a frat party there. they held themselves out, tried to get the cars moved, and all of a sudden a fight comes flying out of the doors of the clubhouse, and within a matter of seconds three shots rang out. reporter: this is the man police issued an arrest for on first degree and attempted lamont postell. police
