joan. generational trauma is impossible to undue in some cases. my mom says you re supposed to be getting married yourself. you re not meeting this expectation. it just felt like if i don t get started on this, i m going to be a huge disappointment. i m tracy groom. i m in my early 40s. growing up there was an expectation that i d be a good girl. and good girl and i don t have a boyfriend. and then all of a sudden, there was a mandate that i had to find a husband. for me, marriage wasn t necessarily and it wasn t the finale of the show. they may not get there anymore. may as well have fun.
