New Castle Democratic Committee Endorses 2021 Candidates

Reply Feb. 19, 2021 The New Castle Democratic Committee, activists from every part of this town, has unanimously voted to endorse a strong group of candidates who will keep New Castle and Westchester County moving forward in the coming years. At the County level, the committee will support George Latimer and Tim Idoni, seeking reelection as County Executive and County Clerk, and Vedat Gashi, seeking reelection to the County Legislature. At the local level, the Committee endorsed five candidates, Holly McCall for Town Supervisor, Lori Morton for re-election to the Town Board and, Michael Weinberg and Jennifer Bounds who are seeking first terms on the New Castle Town Board, and Noah Sorkin, seeking reelection as Town Judge.

More than 6,000 Local Children Benefit From Toy Drive

The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE program’s 2020 Holiday Toy Drive provided toys for over 1,000 families in need, including 6,337 children.   According to the Town’s website, INTERFACE is a partnership between individuals, good corporate neighbors and the Town of Brookhaven to provide help to Brookhaven s less fortunate residents.   This year, more than 72 businesses and clubs, including JVC Broadcasting and the Red Knights Motorcycle Club LI Chapter NY-25 held events or collected toys at locations across Brookhaven Town.   The Covid-19 pandemic changed things up this year. The annual Red Knights Motorcycle Club and JVC Broadcasting Toy Drives were held as drive-up/drop-off events in the Brookhaven Town Hall parking lot. The JVC event featured on-air personalities from all five JVC Broadcasting radio stations, including My Country 96.1, LI News Radio 103.9, LaFiesta 98.5, Oldies 98.1 and Party 105.3.
