Travelling through Fukushima, renewal and destruction can be seen side by side, sometimes separated only by a road. “During the evacuation period, I was living in temporary housing in another part of Fukushima. We were only allowed to visit our homes during the day, and I started planting flowers because everything was so miserable. Now, looking back, I realise that taking care of those flowers was a way to rebuild myself”.
