an old one being revived by democrats and republicans and the president and i hope this time he follows through on it. today the president will push for a one-year extension of the bush-era tax cuts for people making under $250,000 according to the new york times. the move comes on the heels of friday s disappointing jobs report which we ll get to with rattner here. as house republicans pushed to permanently extend the bush tax cuts for the middle and upper class. yesterday, obama senior adviser robert gibbs framed tax strategy as one of the key differences between the president and mitt romney. we know what tax breaks and tax cuts for the wealthy and financial regulations off of wall street mean, mean economic calamity, versus a vision where we add jobs and build out of the middle class, people take responsibility and work hard and get ahead. that s what we need. we will have robert gibbs on the show later this morning to talk to him about this. harold, i ll start with
unintentionally imposed on small businesses. this solution will prevent small businesses very new administrative burdens and ensure that american workers will see their tax relief as soon as possible. the senate will join the house and immediately deported conferees with instructions to reach an agreement on the full one year payroll tax cut deduction along with unemployment reforms and an extension of unemployment and the so-called topics for two years. its members will work to complete the one year extension that all of us want. we will ask the house and senate to approve this agreement by unanimous consent before christmas. middle-class families and small businesses are struggling. they are making sacrifices. i think this agreement will help our economy. one important provision that i want to highlight is the keystone pipeline. this project would create tens of thousands of jobs in our country. in this jobs project has bipartisan support in the house and senate. i hope the
bipartisan compromise available. the negotiation has happened he sat down with senator mcconnell and senator reid and urged that process to begin. they worked hard on a yearong. when they felt like they couldn t do it by the end of the year they recommended this two-year two-month compromise. republicans and democrats overwhelmingly agreed. they should take it up and pass it. laura. two questions. one is, can you tell us how long the conversation lasted with the speaker? about 10 minutes. i don t have an exact time for you, but it seemed like about 10 minutes. and so obviously more was said than what you said in the readout if it was 10 minutes long. i m not going to give you a transcript if that s what you mean. but, look, the president unless they just both repeated themselves over and over. (laughter.) the preside was very clear in stating what i told you he said. i don t think he could be any clearer. i guess what i m trying to figure out is both sides hav
