Bengaluru: Night curfew put off by a day, Christmas midnight mass allowed   Wed, Dec 23 2020 06:50:24 PM From Our Special Correspondent Daijiworld Media Network Bengaluru, Dec 23: Obviously rattled by the flak in social media over the snap decision announced by chief minister B S Yediyurappa on Wednesday morning on imposing daily night curfew from 10 pm till 6 am tonight to January 2, 2021 that the decision will hurt the religious celebrations and sentiments of the Christian community over the midnight mass for Christmas as well as New Year, the state government has now come with an official order postponing the clamping of curfew by a day and changing the timings.

Is New Year celebration allowed in Bangalore: Here are the rules India Updated: Thursday, December 31, 2020, 17:20 [IST] Bengaluru, Dec 22: In a fallout of COVID-19, Karnataka will miss the usual New Year day eve celebrations in clubs, pubs and restaurants among other places with the state government banning special DJ dance programmes and parties for four days from December 30. The government issued an order prohibiting such programmes between December 30 and January 2 at clubs, pubs, restaurants and other places where people gather for new year celebrations, citing the prevailing COVID-19 situation. No New Year Parties In Bengaluru, Karnataka Bans Celebrations In Pubs Dec 21, 2020, 14:49 IST Due to the risk of COVID-19 states like Karnataka have put a ban on New Year celebrations. Any celebration that involves mass gatherings will not be allowed. This includes a celebration ban on pubs, clubs, restaurants and other crowded places. However, they can continue their regular operations. The Karnataka Chief Secretary T M Vijay Bhaskar issued an order, earlier last week. “Keeping in mind public health, there is a need to celebrate Christmas and New Year in a simple and meaningful way. In the wake of this, mass parties have been banned across the state at public places, establishments and places where large crowds gather without maintaining social distancing,” read the order.
