Numerous Charges Filed Against Fugitive Captured in Tioga County New York State Police say their investigation is continuing but numerous charges are being filed against a Cortland man who fled authorities through several Southern Tier Counties. On April 9, 2021 at approximately 7:54 a.m., New York State Police took 32-year-old Matthew O. Perry into custody without further incident in the Town of Tioga. According to a news release from Troop C, the search for Perry began the day before after Perry eluded police in jurisdictions within Cortland, Broome and Tioga Counties. Perry is wanted for the felony of Criminal Contempt, in the City of Cortland and Aggravated Family Offense. ....
Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin After a search that spanned three counties, a Cortland man who had been wanted by law enforcement was taken into custody Friday by New York State Police. Police had been looking for Matthew O. Perry, 32, since Thursday in connection with criminal contempt and aggravated family offense charges. He was arrested shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, and troopers charged him with a felony count reckless endangerment. The chase-turned-manhunt began when Perry allegedly eluded police in a vehicle pursuit that began in Cortland County, then entered Broome before being called off, according to troopers. Later, a state trooper spotted Perry in Tioga County, but was unable to catch him. ....
