The TiHAN Foundation has been incorporated as a Section-8 company by the institute in June 2020. The foundation stone was virtually laid by the Education Minister. Sanjay Dhotre, Minister of State for Education, Chair Person, Board of Governors, IIT Hyderabad Mohan Reddy, Director IIT Hyderabad Prof. B. S. Murty and other officials of Ministry, Department of Science & technology were present in the event.

The Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation Systems for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Remotely Operated Vehicles at IIT Hyderabad, known as TiHAN Foundation has been incorporated as a Section-8 company by the institute in June 2020.
