DIIMAPUR Wokha division of the Health and Family Welfare department conducted a three-day district-level training on home-based care for young child (HBYC) in the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office, Wokha, from April 18 to the 20th. An update from the CMO’s office stated that Dr. Thungchanpeni Patton, district programme officer (UIP/RCH), Wokha, explained the concept of HBYC during the inaugural session. Dr. Patton stated that the training was crucial for the healthcare workers in order to train the ASHA at block level and give them a proper hand holding. The main objective of HBYC training was to assist the mother and child during the crucial 3 to 15 months, she added.
