A message to the Minister of Diaspora Affairs

The total collapse of Jewish and Israeli PR

The total collapse of Jewish and Israeli PR Posted on Speaking to their nearly hundred million followers on social media, they have vilified the Jewish state with an all-consuming hatred. From the beginning of my rabbinic career, I focused mightily on public relations and disseminating the Jewish message to the world. I was accused of being publicity-hungry and of shallowness. But I knew that the one area where we Jews have so significantly failed was in public relations. And this has been true throughout the centuries. But there’s something “way more important” at stake in the March 23 vote: The imperative to “say our farewells” to Benjamin Netanyahu. Lapid argued, for three elections in succession, that the prime minister was a danger to Israeli democracy. He believes Netanyahu will drastically curb the power of the courts. He believes Netanyahu will turn Israel into an “illiberal democracy… Not a dictatorship,” but “an in-between, a hybrid, anywhere between Hungary and Turkey.”
