the premise itself was so funny and smart. the first thing you know ol jed s a millionaire. kin folk said, jed, move away from there, said california is the place you wanna be. so they loaded up the truck and they moved to beverly. well, here we are. i hope you re going to like this place i picked out for you. like hitting the lottery, it s like that idea that we all kind of wish life would happen for us. uncle jed. guess what. there is a whole nother house up here. absolutely love the beverly hillbillies. the typical fish out of water. granny? when we s done washing, can i go swimin here in the cement pond? of course not. the beverly hillbillies is a commentary on upward mobility and the consumerism that comes with it. yes, sir, mr. drysdale, i finally took your advice and put some of my money into stock. these hillbillies, even though they might come across as lower class, they re happy with the way that they ve been living their lives. ....
