Tragedy struck a holiday celebration in the central Mexican state of <keyword id="268552" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="guanajuato" source="Orion">Guanajuato</keyword> as former <keyword id="1669" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="beauty-queen" source="Orion">beauty queen</keyword> <keyword id="19884652" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="thalia-cornejo" source="Orion">Thalia Cornejo</keyword>, 25, was among a dozen people killed by gunmen. The incident occurred during a posada, a traditional Mexican Christmas party, in the municipality of Salvatierra.<br /><br />The victims, aged 16 to 30, were leaving the event when they were ambushed by an armed group, leaving 12 dead and 11 wounded. Despite the severity of the attack, no arrests have been made.<br /><
