schwartz with an update on the freezing rain. glenn. it s not something everybody is getting. it s not a solid area of rain. the places that do get it obviously that is a significant threat depending on the temperature, as you ll see. we have a first alert today and tonight. icy, untreated surfaces. if you ve got salt on the surface, roads have been treated, they are just going to be wet. more freezing rain and sleet is in the forecast for this afternoon and into tonight and we re going to have some icing issues tonight as well. this is not just a temporary thing. you can see the temperature is at or below freezing from the philadelphia area northward at 28 in trenton, one of the cold spots. we re barely above freezing to the south. so the threat of icing covered just about any part of the area. as you can see, it s kind of patchy. not everybody is getting it. there is more back to the west that is headed in our direction. the lehigh valley poconos have had the greatest amo
contact. it s going to be the untreated roads that will be the main concern as we go through tonight. ice y untreated roads expected. this will be lasting overnight. we have more moisture, on the treated roads, anything falling, rain or drizzle, it will be freezing on your windshield. north and west of the lehigh valley allentown, berks county some snow falling here. don t expect to accumulate to much. in berks county we have reports of heavy sleet falling. what you see in the pink through upper montgomery county moving into chester county this is either freezing rain or sleet or could be a combination of both. so we re kind of seeing a wintry mix across the area. we zoom into the philadelphia area, major interstates, 76 75 in south philadelphia there is one small area of precipitation falling. this could be a mix of sleet, also freezing rain. be careful. anything light on untreated surfaces will be freezing causing problems. in parts of new casting and kent counties we re al
