SIBU: Those who are either working out of town or studying abroad have been strongly advised not to return for the Chinese New Year celebration in view of the spike in Covid-19 cases.
The appeal was made yesterday by four Chinese-based associations here, namely the Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders Association, United Chinese Association, Sibu, Seven Clans Association and Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chairman of Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders Association, Temenggong Vincent Lau also advised that Chinese New Year visits and social gatherings be restricted so as to ensure the safety of everyone during this pandemic.
