LankaWeb – Sri Lanka confirms two more Covid-19 deaths

Posted on April 25th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana The Director General of Health Services today confirmed two more Covid-19 related deaths in the country moving the death toll so far to 644. One of the victims is a 79-year-old female from Kelaniya who had been transferred from Teldeniya Base Hospital to Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital (NFTH) after testing positive for Covid-19. She had passed away on April 25. The cause of death is cited as cardiac and raspatory failure caused by Covdi-19 pneumonia. The other patient is a 73-year-old male from Polonnaruwa. He had been transferred from Polonnaruwa District Hospital to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital after being identified as Covid-19 positive and had passed away on April 25 due to Covid-19 pneumonia.

Sri Lanka records four new COVID-19 deaths

Share: COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka reported four new COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, as the country death toll due to the infection hit 244. The deceased included an 82-year old female resident of Colombo 13 who had passed away at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases last Sunday. Her cause of death has been identified as blood poisoning caused by the virus, leading to the dysfunctioning of multiple organs. Another deceased included a 47-year old male from Hanwella who had passed away at the Homagama Base Hospital due to heart issues, caused by the virus, on Tuesday. An 84-year old female from Matale who had passed away at the Teldeniya Base Hospital on Friday due to heart issues was another COVID-19 fatality, authorities said.
