been enjoying the morning snow showers. and we are dealing with rain and fog we ll take a live look. the winds will really pick up this afternoon. soggy day down the shore. it won t be a complete washout though. we will take a live look at the rae car. for most people it is rain and fog. we have live team coverage as we continue to track the rain and snow moving through the area. pamela osborne is live. of let s begin with nbc 10 first alert meteorologist erika martin. right now we are tracking some developing fog. as far as the warmer air and widespread rain showers we zoom on in we are not done yet. there is still enough cold air to sustain that change over to the wintery-type mix. the fog is developing very quickly, dense for some. here is your visibility forecast. allentown 3 mile visibility for you. northeast philly at 7. mount holly at 7 and trenton 5 mile visibility. keep that in mind. the warm front is making the follow dwob a little bit quicker. in about two hours
amounts of snow generally averaging around two inches, a little bit less to the north and the south. there s also a chance of snow for parts of the area on saturday. we ll talk about that storm, too a little bit later. crews say they re ready to role when the first flakes start falling. they were pretreating the roads early this afternoon. that s where nbc randy gyllenhaal is live. this is the most snow of the season for most of the road crews. reporter: in the past hour or so, penn dot called in the reinforcement. contractors will be helping out, making a total of 300 trucks salting the roads into the overnight hours. it s not going to be the biggest storm of the system, but it s a good reminder for folks at home to start the snow and ice checklist. ahead of the first real taste of winter, penn dot crews spent the past 24 hours brining local roads. when the first flakes start falling they ll issue a callout of 180 state trucks and 130 contractors on major state roads.

now. getting the wind right now. take a look at this view from center city. the flag is blowing. the winds are just getting started right now. already seeing heavy wind gusts in the area. why we ve issued a first alert for our area for the entire area through tomorrow morning. and it looks like we re in for periods of heavy rain fall. damaging winds: lead to down trees and power outages. at the coast, that s where we re going to see strongest wind. coastal flooding and beach erosion count on it with this storm. wind gusts already at 32 miles an hour in philadelphia. 33 mile an hour in wilmington and at the shore hitting 40 miles an hour atlantic city. tropical storm force wind gust. that s just the first part of the storm system. the other is the wind and the rain. the rain we re in for heavy periods of rain at times. meteorologist is stopping by with a look at that. that s going be later today start tracking the heavy pockets of rain come in. not looking at too much yet.
