Tech Family gives more than $1 million for third annual Giving Day

For the third consecutive year, members of the Louisiana Tech Family raised over $1 million during the annual Giving Day held April 20. More than 1,400 gifts and counting contributed to the day’s success, and donors included students, faculty, staff members, alumni, parents, and corporate partners. “Over the past two years, the Tech Family has continuously stepped up to support our students from the 2019 tornado to the pandemic and Hurricane Laura,” said Dr. Les Guice, Louisiana Tech President.  “This Giving Day, they have come together once more to impact our University. We are overwhelmed with gratitude.” This year, student organizations rallied support through a new Giving Day initiative called Champ Change. Groups with the most donors each won a portion of a $5,000 grant. Over $10,000 was raised to benefit 14 campus organizations through this student-driven giving competition.

CASE recognizes collaborative communication work at Louisiana Tech

In a year that demanded innovative and responsive communication from higher education leaders, Louisiana Tech University earned four CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Accolades awards.  Each year, the CASE Accolades competition recognizes the best advancement-focused work in over 50 categories from social media to print publications. Louisiana Tech competed against universities and colleges within District IV, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. “The COVID-19 pandemic required our team to pivot during the production of our annual alumni magazine,” said Brooks Hull, Vice President of University Advancement. “This challenge offered our University a great opportunity, allowing us to produce more than one magazine in a year and bringing more stories of the Tech Family to our alumni and friends.”

More than $171 million raised through Louisiana Tech's Forever Loyal Campaign

Louisiana Tech University announced the conclusion of the public phase of Forever Loyal: The Campaign for Louisiana Tech University, the boldest fundraising initiative in the institution’s history, which raised more than $171 million. “When we publicly announced our goal in 2018, though ambitious, we were confident the loyal members of our Tech Family would respond in tremendous ways,” said Tech President Dr. Les Guice. “This momentous achievement would not have been possible without the commitment of thousands of members of the Tech Family. We are grateful for their unwavering support and overwhelming generosity.” The public phase of the Tech’s most ambitious campaign to date was launched Nov. 10, 2018, with a goal of $125 million in honor of the University’s 125th anniversary. One year later, the University reached this goal.
