Funeral services were held March 29 for Denise Brown, 67, of Jersey City. She passed away March 22. She was born on July 29, 1953 to the late Aquiline and William Brown. Denise was a retired social service coordinator/ property manager who worked in the housing industry for 24 years, she was employed by Interstate Reality Management/Michael’s Development Company. Taking care of others was always in Denise’s DNA. Before working in the housing Industry, in 1990 She worked for CET of Jersey City (Employment and Training) as a Case Manager. This program mainly focused on the needs of the homeless population. Working in this position is when she realized that helping those in need was very fulfilling. Denise was known for her great baking skills. Her pineapple upside-down cake, lemon pound cake, and verity of cupcakes were unmatched. Baking and crocheting had become her favorite pastime. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters: Tawana Brown (Al-Qamar) and Aisha B
