With gun violence on the rise nationally, Opelika’s Samford Community Outreach Group hosts the 8th annual Take a Stand Against Violence event on August 5 to spread awareness about the issue as well as other forms of violence. Women affected by violence including Sherry Wiggins, Nakia Grimmett and Shamekia Wimbley plan to share their stories.
