Shenandoah National Park commemorated the addition of nearly 1,000 acres of forestlands in a May 18 ceremony on Tanner’s Ridge just north of Stanley, a press release stated.
A 1,000-acre patch of forestlands in Virginia has been added to Shenandoah National Park thanks to the efforts of the Shenandoah National Park Trust and the Virginia Land Conservation Foundation.
Shenandoah National Park celebrated the donation of 1,000 acres of land to the park on Thursday. The new Tanners Ridge site is located just outside of Stanley. The Shenandoah National Park Trust purchased the land from three families and donated it to the park late last year.
