and us presidentjoe biden has said that putin is to blame. navalny s widow yulia, is due to address european foreign ministers in brussels today, on the invitation of the eu s foreign policy chiefjoseph borrell. the bbc s chief international correspondent lyse doucet spoke with him about the significance of the invitation, and the wider concerns around russia and ukraine. it is a way of, first, honouring navalny. secondly, to express our deep sorry for this death and third, and maybe the most important thing, is to provide a voice to the russian opposition. because in russia, there are people who want to live in freedom as you and me and these people have been fighting, together with navalny. and many which are anonymous has also been sent to jail and may be dead and these people deserve support. that was joseph borrell. let s speak to our eastern europe correspondent sarah rainsford. the suggestion is that some kind of investigation is taking place and that that has been

with ramifications at the bottom of the premier league later as everton host crystal palace both sides desperate for the points to secure their safety come the end of the season. everton are in the drop zone courtesy of their points deduction for breaching financial rules, which they are appealing. they haven t won in the league since mid december, but their opponents, palace, face turmoil of their own. manager roy hodgson was taken to hospital last week after falling ill in training, with reports suggesting the 76 year old will be replaced by former frankfurt boss oliver glasner. obviously, it s nothing to do with us. and if it imbalances their situation, that s helpful. but equally, you can turn it the other way. and will they galvanise for that situation? who knows? but i ve always kept the straight forward thinking that it s about us. we ve got to make the game about us, particularly at goodison. of course we want to take the game on and we ve got to have that mentality

and we re still here. tala s daily life, a relentless struggle to care for her disabled brother yazid. three times they tried to escape rafah. like last november, when our cameraman first met them at the border. we were trying to do anything that we can to do to survive, because we just. i simply don t want to die at 24. they didn t get out of gaza then. back home amid the constant noise of drones overhead, tala tried to comfort yazid. and then just a few days ago, we had news from cairo. they d escaped to the safety of a flat in the egyptian capital. tala described the moment they left. i can t hear drones any more and i can t see. i can t. i m sorry. i won t be hearing any bombings or any air strikes. and that felt really surreal. but normality, even being able to boil a kettle for tea, has brought uncomfortable feelings. this is one of the hardest feelings to talk about. tala carries the memory of the people she s left behind. every time i have food to eat or i don t have

but i m just wondering about one particular aspect of the move your sense of humour. how easy is it for humour to cross borders? very difficult. because it s notjust about the words, it s about the music and the rhythm and the cadence. when i started doing stand up comedy here, i sucked. i was so bad. because it s not aboutjust writing thejokes, it s about finding the same wavelength and the cadence and the rhythm that people receive, they re used to receiving. so, when i went out in comedy clubs, i m talking to people who are americans. they have different. it s different. so it s not about. you have to be fluent, you have to be quick and also, you have to match that cadence that people are expecting to hear the words and the jokes in, and that takes time. you talk about learning the rhythms, the cadence, but also, the subject matter has got to change, because in egypt, you were the political satirist. on tv, social media, you had tens of millions of fans who loved the way
