GARRETT â Garrett American Legion Post 178, 515 W. Fifth Ave., has announced these upcoming events:
Sons of the American Legion will serve broasted chicken Friday. Russ Chandler will provide musical entertainment from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Sons of the American Legion will host a cruise-in Friday. There is no entry fee. A Commanders Trophy will be awarded, with music on the deck.
The executive board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 19. The regular meeting takes place at 7 p.m. May 19.
On Friday, May 21, Dickâs baby back ribs will be served. The Way Back Boys will provide musical entertainment from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Garrett Fraternal Order of Eagles 1357
GARRETT â Garrett Fraternal Order of Eagles, 220 S. Randolph St., will host Tunes on Tap video DJ and karaoke at 7 p.m. Saturday
This event is open to the public, for ages 21 and up.

Lifeguard course
A lifeguard certification class will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 22 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 23.
Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a two-year certification as a lifeguard, as well as CPR, AED and first aid, and a one-year certification in blood-borne pathogens.
