Outgoing Swampscott School Committee member Ted Delano showered with praise for public service

Swampscott resident Ted Delano recently made known his intention not to seek a fourth Swampscott School Committee term in the 2021 municipal election.
Delano, a Swampscott native and police detective, has served on the elected, five-member committee for nearly a decade, bringing what local officials characterized to the Swampscott Reporter as invaluable experience and expertise.
“I held the position of being on the School Committee incredibly close to my heart. I have enjoyed the privilege of representing the future leaders of our community,” said Delano at the tail end of the School Committee’s public meeting convened on Feb. 24. “My decisions were always based on the best interest of our children and the fiduciary responsibility to the district.”
