Unfancied Isarapa Imprasertsuk staged an impressive performance at the Asaka Shooting-Shotgun Ranges with a surprise fourth-place finish in womens skeet at the Olympic Games TOKYO 2020 on Monday.
Despite being an Olympic first-timer, the 2016 Asian Championships silver medalist shattered the odds to finish fourth in the qualifying competition and then shoot her way to fourth behind world No 2 Wei Meng of China (bronze), defending champion Diana Bacosi of Italy (silver) and 2018 World Championship winner Amber English of the US, who won the gold.

25 July 2021: World No 6 Ratchanok Intanon and mixed doubles medal hopes Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai remained in the hunt for medals at the Olympic Games TOKYO 2020 at the Musashino Forest Sports Plaza in Tokyo on Sunday.
The 2012 Games quarter-finalist Ratchanok kicked off her campaign in Group N against Laura Sarosi of Hungary and, as expected, prevailed in straight games, 21-5 21-10.
“It was almost a good match except for the second game. I was a bit off and had to talk to my coach to regain my focus. Next round I will need to be more focused against a Malaysian girl,” said Ratchanok, who will rest tomorrow before going back into action against Soniia Cheah Su Ya of Malaysia on Tuesday.

There will be 42 Thai athletes in 16 sports at the Tokyo Games, postponed from last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) believes they are good enough to win up to three golds.
“We can win one to three gold medals in five sports,” said SAT governor Gongsak Yodmani.

However, assuming there is no repeat impact from the coronavirus, this means that 2021 will have a jam-packed calendar with something for everyone.
The highest profile casualty last year was the Summer Olympic Games, which is now scheduled to take place between Jul 23-Aug 8 in Tokyo, Japan. It will retain the Tokyo 2020 name and will be followed by the Paralympic Games between Aug 24-Sep 5.
