July 16, 1885: The Comet printed several interesting stories. One of these was âOur Republican friend, Capt. W.A. Nelson, of Carter county (sic), renews his subscription to The Comet and modestly advises us to stick to the truth as close as possible. We intend to do that, Captain, even if it should be at the expense of your not liking the paper so well.â
Another article informed readers âR.L. Paton, Superintendent of Public Instruction, for Washington county (sic) has promised to contribute a series of short articles on educational matters for The Comet. He will have something to say of interest to the school directors of the county and advises them to subscribe for this paper.â
from the feminine side. why is it so detrimental to not have that father s influence later in life? we have all dated women and if some are off a bit, could it have something to do with that? that femininity was not affirmed. every good woman needs a good dose of masculinity. when she has a dad who has her back, she ll have a positive attitude about herself. if she doesn t, clayton, she s going to bring home, you know, a loser with a capital l. a guy who will mistreat her. and this explains why so many women go from a rat to a super rat to ultra rat in relationships. why? because they don t feel good about themselves. where do they get that from? if you are a self-esteem chaser out there, there are a lot of parents that are, learn to have positive expectations for your kids. treat them different.
