The passengers have been complaining that the AC inside these buses are not functioning properly or there is insufficient cooling or even the vents are broken. The issue is namely with wet-lease buses of BEST which stands at more than 1200 buses, majority of them having AC, out of the total 3400-odd buses.
The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) in Mumbai is procuring 900 air-conditioned double-decker electric buses as Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray are "personally keen on reviving Mumbai’s iconic double-decker buses".
“These 900 buses will be inducted on wet-lease for a period of 12 years. We expect the first batch of these buses to start coming in by this year-end,” said a BEST official.
