devices. this is a serial bomber. the fbi is doing everything it can to try to not only look at all these different devices. they are trying to get them all to the lab no quantico. they identified some kind of material, perhaps a sulfur material, that could come from fireworks, for instance. so they don t know yesterday exactly who is making this, what the constructive is, whether it matches a recipe that could be, for example, found on the internet. we know there is a lot of these bomb recipes you can find on youtube and in other places on the internet. the work for the fbi at this moment is to try to isolate where these packages were mailed from. there could be a lot of clues in the packages themselves. for instance, the stamps, where were they bought? where were they ordered from? there is a lot of clues that they re working through now at this stage. so the urgency is there. you can see that in the fbi statement that was issued last
when you hear officials say that it is genuine concern because they have seen this grow over the course of the last 48, 72 hours from one target to multiple targets, and let s be frank, the perpetrator or perpetrators are still at large so this manhunt under way and they want to find him or her or them before they can attempt to strike again. jim sciutto, thanks so much. i want to go straight to our senior justice department correspondent evan perez and you have some new information just coming in about these bombs. reporter: well, that s right, jake. i mean, the fbi took the extraordinary move today of publishing a picture of one of those packages, and one of the things that s already happening is that the fbi lab in quantico has been able to examine some of the initial devices,the first one, of course, showed up a couple nights ago at the home of george soros, and they ve noticed it contained a sort of sulfur material.
