In a goodwill message by the International Human Rights Protection Forum (IHRPF) on Sunday, the group said Buhari has made good of his promise to ensure that Nigeria remains a secure and indivisible nation where peace and harmony reign supreme.
According to the letter signed by Zakari Yinusa, its director of communications, the rights group said the safe return of the students is “highly commendable”.
By this singular action, the international rights group noted that the president has shown he is indeed on top of the security situation across the country.

The IHRPF added that Nigerians and the rest of the international community are happy that similar situations which were badly managed in the past and led to untold hardship for innocent citizens are better resolved under the current leadership.

Akwa Ibom elder and pioneer National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Anietie Okon has said that President Muhammadu Buhari-led government is not capable of securing the lives and property of Nigerians.
Okon made the assertion yesterday in Uyo while reacting to the recent kidnapping of Students in Kankara, Katsina state, as well as killings perpetrated by Boko Haram insurgents, and herdsmen across the country.
His words, “The basic responsibility of every government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens. But the recent kidnapping of 344 Students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina state, ceaseless, widespread killings by herdsmen, Boko Haram insurgents points to the fact that this government cannot protect the lives of Nigerians.

Students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, kidnapped last Friday have been freed, according to the state government.
Governor Aminu Masari Thursday night said the boys were at Tsafe, Zamfara State, and would be transported to Kankara on Friday.
According to him, the release of the schoolboys was facilitated by the leadership of MACABAN/Miyetti Allah.
The Special Adviser to the Katsina Governor on Security, Ibrahim Kastina, also confirmed the release of the students Thursday.
He said the students were at Tsafe (82.5km via road) from Kankara town in Katsina.
“Alhamdulillah. The boys have been rescued and are now at Tsafe, Zamfara State. But, we shall be moving them to Kankara tomorrow (Friday),” Kastina said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Masari said the abducted students were taken to a forest in Zamfara State.
Daily Trust reports that hundreds of motorcycle riding bandits, armed with sophisticated weapons, attacked the boys’ school at night.
During the attack, hundreds of students scaled through the fences of the school in search of safety while the rampaging bandits kept shooting and asking the fleeing boys to return.
The attack on the school took place a few hours after President Muhammadu Buhari landed in Katsina and proceeded to Daura, his hometown for a week-long private visit.
The siege at the Kankara science school was one of several attacks in towns and villages in Katsina State between Thursday and Friday, where bandits killed some people and abducted others to unknown locations.
