On Saturday, March 5, the Avondale Alliance for Racial Justice held an awards reception for the winning entries of its second annual Student Black History Month Art Contest. The theme was “Black Empowerment through Wellness: Strengthening Mind, Body and Spirit.”
Various events are happening this week in and around DeKalb County, including a gender-creative story time event at Charis Books and More, the awards ceremony for the Avondale Alliance for Racial Justice's art contest, and a 80s themed trivia night at Three Taverns Brewery. Several local government meetings are also scheduled for this week.
