The president s prepared rash. he did insert a number of ad-libbed words and phrases and short sentences, most of them superlatives and additional adjectives which is his wont. a lot of his speech is based around the heroic and sad stories of people who were brought to the speech for storytelling purposes. we ll be talking about that tonight with our friends here an analysts who will be joining us. i do want to tell you about something that happened just as the speech was starting. the president in this speech tonight had some aggressive language toward north korea. we expected that might be the case. he called them depraved and he spoke about north korea very aggressively. but you should know that as the president was going to capitol hill tonight, as he was taking the dais to start this speech, his ambassador, his nominee to be ambassador to south korea posted an op-ed in the washington post tonight on the occasion of the state of the union criticizing the president for his policy
