Maryland officials say they declined to pursue severe damages against a nonperforming Medicaid payments contractor because they feared it would walk away.
Polls will open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at dozens of locations across Anne Arundel. Ballot drop boxes will also be available until 8 p.m. Tuesday for voters to deposit ballots they had mailed to them.
There have been 11 Anne Arundel County executives since the position was created with the new County Charter in 1964. On Tuesday, voters will choose between incumbent Democratic County Executive Steuart Pittman and Republican County Council member Jessica Haire.
