Car burglar confronted by witnesses in San Francisco opens fire FacebookTwitterEmail A person burglarizing a car near San Francisco’s Embarcadero area fired a gun Wednesday night after being confronted by witnesses to the car break-in, police said. No one was hurt in the shooting and police taped off the area around Steuart and Mission streets as they investigated the 8:15 p.m. call about a person with a gun. Officers said a man at the scene told police his car had been broken into. Police said witnesses confronted people in a vehicle and during that confrontation, one of the suspects “shot a firearm and fled the scene.” ....
