Manchester house fire kills woman’s dog; ‘smoking material’ cited as cause of blaze View Comments MANCHESTER - A woman’s dog has perished in an accidental house fire on Tern Court that was “the result of improperly discarded smoking material,” according to Lt. Vincent Manco, a police department spokesman. The blaze in the Pine Ridge at Crestwood neighborhood was reported at 11:39 p.m. Friday. When officers from the Manchester Police Department arrived, they observed that the fire had already engulfed a large portion of the home with visible flames emanating from a rear door, Manco said. “The family dog was unable to escape and perished in the fire,” he said. ....

Date Time Stolen vehicle and suspicious car fire, Condon and Douglas Police have arrested and taken two people in custody following a suspicious car fire and stolen vehicle incidents around Townsville in the early hours of this morning. Around 3.30am, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire at Giraween Avenue, Douglas, where they located a stolen Mitsubishi Lancer engulfed in flames. The vehicle was destroyed. In a separate incident at 3.40am, police deployed a tyre deflation device on a stolen Jeep Cherokee in Condon. The Jeep, which was stolen earlier in the night from Tern Court, Condon, was found abandoned a short time later in Ridley Drive, Kirwan. ....
