a maryland state police trooper who was sideswiped by the driver of a car. ryan hughes has the latest on how the trooper managed to evade the oncoming car. ryan: the trooper was in the middle of a traffic stop, and next thing he knows the car was barreling towards him. look at the damage to his almost takentire out, the side absolutely crushed. this has happened quite a number of times, and 10 at the police are putting out an important warning. i heard an impact. i immediately turned to the right and saw a car on his passenger side sliding towards me. ryan: maryland state police trooper sam moore surviving a close call after his cruiser wish struck on interstate 270 near rockville. moore was standing outside of his car on the right shoulder, after pulling him over for having a headlight out. next thing, he sees a vehicle flipping in the air. i was telling the driver to drive forward. 19-year-old stephen shannon smelled of alcohol and refused a blood test. after being pull
