embarcadero right now. stephanie chung is with the students. what is it that they say they want? reporter: that s a good question, kris. the answer is different depending on whom you ask. the key word here from what i ve seen is the organization, because of the size and nature of how the event begani. at least 1,000 high school students have walked out. they re weaki they re weaking they re walking in different directions. i spoke to a student, a junior, who says she is the one she started this. she said she put out the call to organize at city hall on social media to get together at 9:00 this morning at city hall. she says there were no plans to march. that means that happened spontaneo spontaneous spontaneously. as kris mentioned they ve gone down the busiest streets here in downtown san francisco. a big group down market. now embarcadero. another group went on montgomery. police were trying to catch up. officers were on motorcycles as well as on foot trying to make sure
chaotic scene that ended with three people shot, including one that may have been shot by a police officer. it all unfolded about 9:00 p.m. on kingsley drive, witnesses say at least five gunshots were fired amongst a group of people. the police source tells the time the officer on the scene actually shot one of those people. again, in all, all three people were taken to the hospital and all are expected to survive. so far, there is no word on arrests. this morning, feelings of shock and sadness at an east bay high school after a football player collapsed during a conditioning exercise on the field and later died in the hospital. bob redell is live at encino high school where it all happened. bob with the grief counsellors will be there to help people cope with the tragedy. reporter: good morning, lauren, sam, the high school sent out a note to let them know professionals will be here to help staff and students talk through happened here yesterday. the principal is askin
