Het kabinet houdt er serieus rekening mee dat de hele bevolking volgend jaar opnieuw twee keer moet worden ingeënt tegen het coronavirus. Dat blijkt uit de vorige week gepresenteerde begroting van het ministerie van Volksgezondheid. Daarin is voor volgend jaar een bedrag van 134 miljoen euro gereserveerd voor dit scenario.
De economie groeit dit jaar flink met 3,9 procent en volgend jaar met 3,5 procent is de verwachting van het Centraal Planbureau (CPB). Maar de koopkracht blijft achter. Voor een doorsnee huishouden stijgt hij volgend jaar miniem, met 0,1 procent.
Een tekort aan papier teistert de boekensector. Door de enorme vraag naar karton voor webwinkels en pizzeria's is er een groot tekort aan papierpulp. Dat wordt ook gebruikt voor het drukken van boeken. Daardoor kunnen boeken later binnenkomen dan gepland.
Over een aantal maanden is het twintig jaar geleden dat er een einde kwam aan het guldentijdperk. Sinds 1 januari 2002 betalen we met euro's, maar desondanks hebben best veel Nederlanders nog guldens in huis. Dat blijkt uit onderzoek van het bedrijf Goudwisselkantoor.
