churning story we have been covering for about a week now. gaetz is a republican congressman from florida. as that headline alludes to. he was a staunch supporter of trump. it was first reported the new york times that matt gaetz is currently under federal investigation for allegations of alleged sex trafficking of an underage girl. now, this is an investigation that started during the trump administration when bill barr was running the justice department. bill barr, as attorney general, was himself reportedly personally briefed on the matt gaetz investigation on multiple occasions. the federal investigation into congressman gaetz is reportedly examining whether federal campaign funds may have been used to facilitate the child sex trafficking ring, whether drug use may have been involved. congressman gaetz repeatedly denied the allegations. he said they re all made up. this breaking news in the times tonight puts those denials in a different light. here s the lede. quote,
