The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library is putting its search for a long-term chief executive officer on hold. The search is paused “until later in 2021.” “No one anticipated the difficulty of interviewing candidates during the COVID-19 pandemic, which necessitates extending the timeline for the search,” a Monday press release said. The library’s trustees used consultants Bradbury Miller Associates to consider 20 potential candidates, but decided to hold the search until summer when they hope each candidate can visit the library. The press release said Chief of Staff Thad Hartman will continue to serve as interim CEO while the library’s search continues. The search to find Gina Millsap’s replacement started back in August.
