Wednesday, May 12, 2021 The Southwest Trap Team competed at the Paul Larson Memorial High School State Shoot in Linn Creek on April 17. More than 250 squads of trapshooters ages of 10-18 came out to compete. Southwest brought two full squads and one partial squad, with several shooting their best scores of the year. Middle schooler Bailey Stephens shot her first 25 straight. The team will be celebrating her accomplishment by shooting her hat at the next practice. The middle school squad placed third in the state with a score of 403/500. The high school squad came up just short of a medal this year with a score of 422/500. We have 15 good shooters this year, and it will be tough competition for them throughout the rest of the season, said Heather Ayer, with Southwest. They are putting in the hard work academically and at the trap range to make this a successful season for the team. A STOLEN dog found dumped with a severe leg injury has been reunited with her family after she went missing in March - after being found 170 miles away from home. French Bulldog Minnie was found badly injured and abandoned late at night at the side of a canal in Liverpool Road, Hapton, near Burnley, by a woman walking her dog. RSPCA animal rescuer, inspector Ryan King, was called to help Minnie - who needed life-saving surgery to have her leg amputated. A microchip found on her revealed that Minnie belonged to a family who lived 170 miles away in Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire. She had been reported missing back in March after she disappeared from the garden of her home. ....
