have prepared for. previously they were not prepared for the verdict. and that minnesota operation safety net is the coalition of law enforcement agencies working on the security of this, and they are the ones trying to coordinate a response across this region, knowing that this is likely what we are going to see as these high emotions continue and as the trial of derek chauvin continues ahead of and you see this right now. these officers are pushing these protesters out of the streets here. this is the kind of law enforcement we saw from the distance. you saw how much they ve advanced in just the past minute or so. from a block away to now methodically coming over the loudspeaker, putting these crowd dispersal tactics into use. and where we were standing just a few moments ago is now almost clear of the street. people are firing fireworks off in the background almost as if in response to the law enforcement tactics that are being used. the people are angry, and you can see
police here in brooklyn center, minnesota. as we know, the chief has resigned. the officer who fired that shot has also resigned. but people here want justice. they want more than that. similar to what we ve seen in previous cases like this that i ve reported on, that you ve reported on and so many of our reporters across the country, they want to see these officers charged, and they want to see the full extent of the justice system carried out on all of the officers involved. people here still loud and passionate, again, hours after first getting here on-scene. some of the more violent images that we saw in just a past hour and a half or so, pushing people out, is different from what we saw in the earlier afternoon hours. there were demonstrations of marches and people were giving speeches and sharing stories. and so people here are expressing what they ve been feeling in a variety of ways, and they are doing it over a long period of time. and it s not just tonight obviously
