A Macoupin County Board member is among those being considered for appointment to complete the term of former state Sen. Andy Manar.
The Bunker Hill Democrat resigned to take a senior adviser post with Gov. J.B. Pritzker.
There were eight finalists selected from the applications submitted. They include Roberta Vojas, a Macoupin County Board member, and Chase Wilhelm, who lost a Nov. 3 bid to unseat state Rep. Avery Bourne, R-Morrissonville.
Other candidates include Springfield Park Board member Lisa Badger, retired Illinois State Police trooper Shad Edwards, Springfield Alderwoman Doris Turner, former Springfield Alderman Frank McNeil, Ruth Walker of the Macon County state’s attorney’s office and Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe.

SPRINGFIELD A Macoupin County Board member is among eight people being considered for appointment to complete the term of former state Sen. Andy Manar, D-Bunker Hill.
Manar resigned his state senate seat to take a senior advisor’s post with Gov. J.B. Pritzker. The 48th Legislative District asked for applications to succeed Manar and, on Tuesday, announced eight finalists.
They include Roberta Vojas, a Macoupin County Board member, and Chase Wilhelm who lost a Nov. 3 bid to unseat state Rep. Avery Bourne, R-Morrissonville.
