PIGYS event this weekend on P.I

PIGYS event this weekend on P.I   June 24, 2021 PRETTY NICE We had a very toasty Monday and if the forecast holds true, we ve got another batch of hot days as well, so I hope you re all staying well hydrated and as cool as possible. However, our Tuesday morning drizzle was definitely a surprise, but probably not for those in the midst of making hay. Let s hope it s just a brief amount and it dries out in no time and the hay makers and beachcombers are happy once again by the time you read this. BE RESPONSIBLE This is also the time that we hear many, many horror stories of animals and children being left in hot cars and wind up dying and I simply cannot fathom how in the world this keeps happening! Let s not hear any tragic stories about the deaths of children or animals around here, as there just isn t any justification for it happening.

Spokane Voters' Group Teaches People About Redistricting

SPR s Doug Nadvornick reports. Washington’s 2021 Redistricting Commission is preparing to begin its one-every-10-year task. The board will hold public meetings around the state later this spring to help guide its work of redrawing political boundaries. The League of Women Voters, this week, will hold two public webinars about redistricting and how people can let their voices be heard. The redistricting process is important because it will determine in which legislative and congressional districts you will vote for the next several years. But, says April May from the Spokane chapter of the League of Women Voters, it is not a process familiar to many voters.

High school leagues around state make own plans to return to play

High school leagues around state make own plans to return to play Greater St. Helens leagues working on own plans this week By Tim Martinez, Columbian Assistant Sports Editor Published: January 13, 2021, 9:03pm Share: Olympia s Ethan Gahm fouls Union s Tanner Toolson on a fastbreak in a 4A State quarterfinal on Thursday at the Tacoma Dome. (Joshua Hart/The Columbian) When it comes to playing high school sports this year, it appears that it might be every league or region for itself. Last week, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced that its athletic calendar would resume Feb. 1 with traditional fall sports. However, the WIAA also said that while its season schedule was made in order to provide possible regional culminating events, it is allowing individual leagues and districts to come up with their own plans that best fit their communities.
