alwyn 14.1.2.1.1 I think it is a desperate attempt by Robertson to try and set up the RBNZ as the people who cop the blame for the shambles that this Government has been making of the housing market for the last three and a half years. I suspect it will backfire on him (Robertson). Orr is far to smart to allow Robertson to get away with such a transparent attempt to pass the parcel. Orr is quite likely to take it as an invitation to tell Robertson, publicly, what he thinks will be required to fix the housing situation. Nothing he proposes will be something the the RBNZ can do. Everything will be something that requires fiscal action by Robertson himself. It will be on the basis of If you don t do this it will get worse . What he will suggest is very unlikely to be acceptable to the Government but Orr can then continue in the future to propose that if the Government had only followed our advice…… etc . ....
Forget now 1.1.1 $700,000 seems a lot considering that the air force already owns the helicopters, so that s just fuel, maintenance, and maybe staffing (but that d be army pilots and police spotters? So already employed just reassigned). I do know from once living in rural parts near a usually tranquil growing area, those helicopters flying so low are really loud and annoying. Far worse than tourist flights which are at least on the way somewhere rather than circling for days over the same area. Tricledrown 1.2 Police realise that alcohol meth etc are the dangerous drugs and targeting gangs is where resources should be focused. ....
Red 2.2.1 Yep in principal on the approach, not so much the spin and politics of it all , the team of 5m thing ( vomit inducing) , canonisation of certain individuals, smugness of nz in contrasting other countries without realising how much advantage we have to most other nations, releasing not so complementary reports on health sector performance very late and after the election, attempts to make this a left and right issue Apart from that on board Drowsy M. Kram 2.2.1.1 Red, what makes you think that there s a (general?) lack of realisation of the advantages ( e.g. remote island, delayed risk of exposure, small well-educated population, competent leaders and dedicated public health workers focussed on protecting the health of citizens) that NZ has wrt this global pandemic? ....
In the past week a relative and a neighbour of 5 years need to look for a new rental, they both recieve supported living payment. Just over 4 years ago when my landlord sold I had to leave the property. It was hard enough back then in the private market, now it has become out of reach for people who even earn the minimum wage. The out lay to move into another property is expensive, 2 weeks rent, 4 weeks bond, removal of furniture, transference of the internet and power. I had a mother on my street last year give away her furniture because it was too expensive to transport furniture to another region. ....
