Pacific men have two more games postponed [The Record, Stockton, Calif]
University of the Pacific’s men’s basketball team schedule continues to change as the Tigers dealt with another flurry of postponements.
School officials announced that that Thursday’s game against BYU and Saturday’s matchup with UC San Diego have been postponed because of COVID-19 related concerns. Makeup dates will be determined in the future.
It’s the third consecutive postponement for Pacific (3-1), and all the delays have been West Coast Conference games. Pacific has yet to play a WCC contest.
In total, the Tigers have had eight games canceled and four postponed.

“The most important thing I can do as a coach is love you,” VanDerveer said. “I love the game of basketball and I want to help you be the best you can be. You’re the people that I care about. Thank you.”
Typical Tara, wanting to share the joy on a night when the spotlight shined brightly on her and her alone.
VanDerveer became the winningest women’s college basketball coach Tuesday night, passing the late Pat Summitt with her 1,099th victory as No. 1 Stanford romped to a 104-61 victory over Pacific.

Faced with a dire shortage of hospital beds, health officials announced last week that a large swath of the Central Valley, which included San Joaquin County, and the vast region of Southern California will be placed under a sweeping new lockdown in an urgent attempt to slow the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases.
The news didn’t sit well with some Stockton business owners, and at a demonstration Monday at Stockton City Hall, some of those owners vowed to keep their businesses open.
